Another boaters' facility lost

YET another boaters' facility is lost, that seems to be the current trend.

This time it is the shower facility located at Harecastle Tunnel on the Trent & Mersey, following on last month's closure of the shower facility at Foulridge Tunnel. And also last month the facilities closure at Pitstone on the Grand Union., Keith Gudgin reports.

Two reasons

Canal & River Trust give two reasons for the Harecastle closure. One is that it will be getting the shower drained down and isolated as it is not cost effective to repair. The other reason being it is for public safety.

Whatever, we are told the shower will remain closed whilst it completes a Customer Service Facilities review.
