Another winter works cancelled

THE winter works on a lock on Bank Dole Cut has been cancelled.

The trust stating it has now fully committed the grouting budget on other locations and this item was a lower priority, Keith Gudgin reports.

Prevent deterioration

Resin grouting was to be put behind the lock walls to fill up any voids and prevent deterioration of the lock structure, which means there could be deterioration should a void appear as now only too frequently occurs with locks.

This work was to be undertaken on Lock 5 of the navigation, that is an arm off the Aire & Calder Navigation.
