Not doing too well

THE Leeds & Liverpool Canal is still blocked at Bridge 130H with masonry in the canal.

This was caused by a strike to the bridge, the demolished part of the parapet falling into the waterway closing navigation, Keith Gudgin reported.

The trust is continuing to liaise with the local authority that is in the process of organising divers to undertake the removal of the masonry from the canal.  Both it and the towpath are currently closed.

Witley Lock

Witley Lock (12) on the Aire & Calder Navigation is still not available for use, its top gates being blocked with Floating Pennywort.

With Canal & River Trust advising it has weed removal craft attempting to clear it upstream from the lock gates and will then work clearing the downstream weed.
