Work progressing well at collapsed culvert

WORK is progressing well at the collapsed culvert on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, Canal & River Trust reates.

This is by Wanless Bridge near Foulridge Tunnel North East Portal,with the culvert being successfully relined to prevent any further leakage, Keith Gudgin reports.

Sink hole

During the work the contractors discovered a sink hole that had to be attended to, delaying the work, but all is now completed.

However, this sink hole appeared in the offside washwall that had to be repaired, with the towpath side washwall repair starting next week.
