Wendover Canal towpath upgrade

WENDOVER Canal Trust has now upgraded a mile-long towpath.

This runs from Wharf Road in Wendover to Perch Bridge in Halton, Howard Clarke reports.

Open for the public to enjoy

Its completion means it is now open for the publice to enjoy and particulary those in wheelchairs.

It is stated:

'The improvement will enable people of all ages and abilities to use the towpath throughout the year. So families, schoolchildren, walkers, runners, cyclists and those with reduced mobility will all be able to use the path whatever the weather or time of year'.

There is still further work planned for the remaining length of towpath to be restored.
