Stoppage on the Kennet & Avon

THE Kennet & Avon Canal was closed yesterday at Sheffield Lock.

This Theale lock is suffering from a potential structural issue with one of the lock gates' Keith Gudgin reports.

Closed until further notice

It will be closed until further notice we are told.

Engineers were assessing the lock yesterday, Wednesday, but nothing has been reported this morning.

The Kennet & Avon has had a fairly long run without any stoppages being recorded.
