Stolen narrowboat found

IT WAS a week ago that a 1971 narrowboat was stolen from its moorings above Zouch Lock on the Soar, but it has now been discovered.

It was found on the Coventry Canal, but stripped of its engine and most of its fittings, and left basically a wreck inside, Alan Tilbury tells us.

It is a classic boat that was built by Harborough Marine and is owned by the Kirkland family. West Midlands police are investigating the theft.
