Llangollen lift bridge repaired

THE Llangollen Canal was closed yesterday, Wednesday, after a car damaged the Tilstock Park Lift Bridge.

It seems this was done purposely as Canal & River Trust have listed the lift bridge 42 incident as being caused by vandalism.

Safety reasons

This occurred on the evening of the 30th June, with the bridge subsequently closed  in the lowered position for safety reasons, therefore stopping navigation, Keith Gudgin tells us.

But after a full inspection by the owners, Shropshire County Council, it was discovered that there was damage, which is being attended to, but the lift bridge can be used, with the navigation open.
