Three bodies in canal

WITH the discovery of a man's body in the Leeds & Liverpool canal at Bootle, it makes the third such death in the area.

The police confirmed they were investigating the unexplained death of the man discovered in the canal yesterday morning.

Dead at the scene

Believed to be in his 40's he was pronounced dead at the scene, with a post mortem to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

This is the third such death, with that of the body of 55 years old John Cook being found in the canal less than two weeks ago.

Before this a woman was found dead in the same stretch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal at Bootle.
