Taking lock keepers jobs

IT MAY be correct what Caroline Killeavy of the Canal & River Trust says that no paid permanent lock keepers have been made redundant because they were to be replaced by volunteers, writes Ian Waters.

But what she forgets to say is that when lock keepers leave, as did the one mentioned at the Atherstone Flight on the Coventry, he was not replaced, but volunteers took over.

Took a lock keepers job

So if that isn't taking a lock keepers job I don't know what is. There was a lock keeper but isn't any more, with even his house being flogged-off. And what is happening on the Llangollen?  Volunteers are appearing but no sign of a locky.

This is nothing but CaRT whitewash, as when a locky leaves he is replaced by volunteers, who are taking someone's job, no matter how they try to cover it up.
