Fly tipping closes waste site

SO MUCH fly tipping has occurred at Bathampton Rubbish Disposal Point that it is to close.

With Canal & River Trust telling it is sorry to advise of the imminent closure of the site at Bridge 183 on the Kennet & Avon Canal, Keith Gudgin reports.

This will close next Monday 11th  March 2024.

Unsustainable

The fly tipping at this site is unsustainable and has made it unfit for purpose, with boaters advised not to leave waste here after the final collection.

The nearest waste compounds from Bathampton are at East: Dundas 2.5 miles. Horseshoe Bridge two miles

This land belongs to Bath and North East Somerset Council.
