Volunteering for Grantham Canal Society in 2024
AS WE move further into 2024 and the days grow longer and the weather becomes, hopefully, drier.
There will be the usual opportunity for members to deepen their involvement with the Grantham Canal Society by taking up opportunities to volunteer with us. Volunteers are essential and highly valued members of the society given our ambitions for the canal.
Wide range of options
A wide range of options are available from the exciting project to rebuild Lock 13, working with the trip boat as well as regular activities such as the work parties helping to maintain the canal and equipment/boats and the occasional events at the depot and elsewhere. We also have a number of administrative roles that can be undertaken from home.
Volunteers are essential to our operation and we are currently planning the induction sessions for 2024 to ensure that all volunteers can help us with a full appreciation of the issues, including Health and Safety, of working on and around the canal.
Organise a session
If you would be interested in attending an induction session on a Saturday morning at the depot in Woolsthorpe do please let me know so that we can organise a session.
