Bank washed away on Leicester Section

THE recent heavy rain has washed away the piling and the bank on part of the Leicester Section.

This occurred just below King's Lock with the navigation now closed, Keith Gudgin reports.

Towpath

Being on the towpath side it also washed away the towpath that is also closed, with no notice of a diversion.

The pound from King's Lock to Bluebank Lock is closed to navigation and for assessment of the damage.
