Boating has ceased to be a relaxing pleasure

THAT 50 stoppages/restrictions figure confirms to me that we made the right decision to hang up the windlass and sell our boat last month, writes Martin Cox.

Marilyn and I had become tired of the stress of not knowing if we would be able to complete a trip or even get back to our marina. Boating has ceased to be a relaxing pleasure.

Refund delayed

CaRT had the last laugh by charging us £30 'administration fee' for refunding the unexpired licence and then telling us that the refund would be delayed due to 'exceptional number of applications for refund'.

I just wonder what would have happened if, when renewing the licence, I had said that I would delay paying because 'an exceptional number of people were seeking money from me'!
