Sunk boat still there after a year

IT WAS a year ago that a boat sank in the Thames near Oxford.

BoatSunkThamesAnd it is still there sinking ever deeper into the river, Janet Friend reports.

It is a wooden boat that had a tarpaulin cover thrown over it and was simply left to rot, with moss growing on the side of the boat that keeps settling deeper.

There was some activity at the boat five months ago, but nothing has been done since, with the policy of the Environment Agency  being that sunken boats remain the responsibility of the owner.

It will only take action if a vessel is blocking the waterway.
