PERHAPS it was fortunate that the weather discouraged boaters to be out at Easter. If many had taken to their boats they might well have had problems with visitor moorings.

AS I'VE mentioned before, Canal & River Trust is certainly going to have to up its game with regard to encouraging volunteers—and try to remember it is no longer British Waterways.

IT HAS been noticeable, whilst passing along the Regent's Canal at around the time of the CART launch, of the amount of interest generated at the locks by seeing a boat actually using them.

VICTOR certainly had a point about the number of boats moored on the Trent & Mersey. Coming through Fradley Junction on the way South last week it took us an hour and a half to find somewhere to moor for lunch.
