Knife gangs now on L&L

ROBBERS with knifes are now attacking people on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal towpath in Chorley in broad daylight.

It was a 26 years old woman walking her dog by the canal who was attacked by a gang of four, with one grabbing her and holding his hand over her mouth to stop her screaming,  whilst another held a knife to her throat, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Terrified

Another of the gang threatened to knife her dog, and then proceeded to rob her of her handbag, money and mobile phone, leaving the terrified woman in a state of shock, but eventually managed to get home and telephone the police.

The woman was left with injuries to her face, with the police telling the incident had left her 'deeply distressed'.

The police have mounted patrols on the towpath, and have a good description of the gang, comprising of three men and a young woman, and hope to make arrests.
