Readers of the article concerning lack of boat business will soon ask 'If there is such a dramatic drop in new boat business, why are new marina projects like that at Onley attempting to get underway?' Asks Kevin McNiff.
News reports suggest that this is a £15m project, yet with so many existing berths going unused, where will the backers get the return on their investment?
I guess that if they turn it into another Mercia Marina it would become more attractive but that was built when there was still money available for boat building and they have only fairly recently built the lodges and retail outlets.
