NARROWBOAT owner Nick Wolfe wanted a bit of company and a bit of assistance with his boat, so being moored by the towpath at Crick Show put a notice out advertising for a 'little helper'.
Being a fella he advertised for a woman of 18 or more, one loyal, honest, trustworthy and definitely with no 'baggage', with the notice being displayed throughout the period of the show.
Managed to get one
And the 51 years old managed to get one, with an email from the 30 years old daughter of a couple who had talked to him at the show, whose daughter was interested in the waterways.
Nick had never been married, so just wanted a companion and fellow boater who would like travelling around the waterways, not someone to cook or clean, of which he is capable he tells.
He admits he wasn't desperate for a companion, and wanted to see 'what was out there and what happens'. He is now eagerly awaiting his new companion joining him.
