THE body found in the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal in Gloucester has been identified as that of Manuel Veiga, who was discovered in the waterway last week.
As reported in narrowboatworld it was a boater who saw what he thought was a coat, that was later identified as the drowned man.

Another drowning, Alan Tilbury reported last February, was Margaret Naylor, of whom it was told at the inquest last week that she had found it increasingly difficult to deal with the loss of her husband Trevor in 2009, and was also worried about her health.
She left a note to her children telling them of her intentions, then took a taxi to the Boat Inn in Sprotbrough by the Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation, then jumped into the waterway.
Her body was found the following day after her son Paul alerted the police that his mother was missing. |
