AT PRESENT the single non-emergency police telephone number is being rolled-out across the whole country, with it being national by the end of the year.
This is the number—101—that is most useful to boaters stuck out on the waterways reporting such as vandal activity, that is not really an emergency.
Various police forces
For the past few years we have been providing the non-emergency telephone numbers of the various police forces, which we have been told by boaters has proved very useful. The information has been provided by Graham Keens, which we appreciate.
In future, no matter how the non-emergency number is dialled, whether by mobile or land line the cost will be just 15p, and the length of call will make no difference to the cost.
We shall of course keep readers updated.
