GREEN PRINTS charity has given £10,000 towards the restoration of the Droitwich Junction Canal, but not for the waterway itself.

The cash is to plant trees along the edge of a recently restored section of one and a half miles of the waterway, with volunteers wanted to plant them.

The grant from the GreenPrints campaign, a not-for-profit organisation, which gives funding and support for projects which encourage young people to improve green spaces.

Also on the waterway, families are wanted to take part in the next bird-box building day on the 19th August at Chawson Lane Community Centre and young people are being asked to volunteer for a tree planting day on the 5th December.
