Oxford Canal closed again

NOT only are the locks crumbling, but bridges too are collapsing on the Oxford Canal, with one falling into the waterway.
Blocking navigation
The offside bridge abutments of Caravan Lift Bridge 215 have collapsed, with the whole structure having fallen into the canal blocking navigation, Keith Gudgin tells us, adding—'what the hell is happening to the canal infrastructure? It's about time something was done about the appalling state of things in CaRT before someone gets killed'.

Contractors are at present taking equipment to the site to remove the broken bridge and clear the rubble out of the waterway.
