Girl pushed into canal

A TEENAGE girl was pushed into the Slough Arm of the Grand Union Canal as she walked along the towpath in the town by the basin.

She was approached by four Asian men and was pushed into the canal without any warning as they came up to her, and she believed she was going to drown.

Though three of the men ran off laughing, a fourth one obviously saw the danger of the situation and helped her out of the water. The men were in their early 20's.

The girl had cuts and bruises as she scrambled up the bank, but nothing was stolen, though her clothing was ruined and she lost one of her shoes.

A policewoman attending the incident pointed out that if the man hadn't helped her out of the water it could have been very serious.
