Email: BW had a boat

British Waterways had a very fine craft built by Dobson's of Shardlow named Telford.

Many years ago I cruised down the Grand Union with the General Manager, Gerald McCance, my own boat was also a Dobson.

The boat was used in those days by senior staff who of course could see first hand how well the canals were cared for. What happened to this craft? It was allowed to rot away, abandoned and unloved, by British Waterways, on some out of the way mooring in London and was eventually broken up.

Sister ships to the Telford are still cruising the canals and are well cared for by their owners.
