Boat builders face criminal prosecution

TWO directors of the defunct M&D Boat Builders & Engineering, that first went into liquidation in 2011, then again in 2012, having changed its name, now face criminal charges.

The Stourport company filed for liquidation with a deficiency of around £270,000, leaving many unhappy customers with unfulfilled orders, suppliers without payment, taxes unpaid and dangerous boats—a truly bitter experience for all involved. Two directors of the defunct M&D Boat Builders & Engineering, that first went into liquidation in 2010, then again in 2012, having changed its name slightly, are facing the criminal charges.

Undischarged bankrupts

Since the beginning of the liquidation by Walsh & Taylor Insolvency Practitioners it has now come to light that the two individuals behind M&D Boat Builders, Martyn & David Jones, were actually two un-discharged bankrupts and therefore should not have been in such a position of running the company in the first place.

Both Martyn Jones & David Jones have now been summoned by the C.P.S to appear for criminal prosecution at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on the 22nd February 2013 under the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986.
