WALKS have been organised during July for people to see the restoration work on the Droitwich Canals Restoration Project.

There have been so many changes to the landscape in and around Droitwich with the restoration of the waterway that people are now being invited to explore the development of the newly created 21 mile cruising ring before its opening in 2010. The picture shows the new road bridge giving access to the rugby club ground.

The walks that are organised are:

  • Wednesday, 8th July from Ladywood to Droitwich Leisure Centre from 5pm. Two miles walk that will include details of the creation of the reed bed at Salwarpe. Meet at Lock One Cottage, Ladywood. 5pm.

  • Wednesday, 15th July from Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre to Hanbury Wharf. The two and a half miles walk will take in the newly constructed section of the Junction Canal at 5pm. Meet at leisure centre's rear car park.
