British Waterways investment fails

IT SEEMS that British Waterways has made yet another bad investment, this time of £500,000 in the Liverpool Boat Show, as the organisers have called in the administrators.

Marine Industry Events (MIE), its organiser, has admitted that  it has contacted the administrators to sort out the collapse of the show following yesterday's news of its demise, with Managing Director, Rob Mackenzie, telling that the company  had been 'destroyed'.

Not so fortunate

Though tickets holders have been promised a refund, the exhibitors  will not be so fortunate, as their fate will be in the hands of the administrators.  British Waterways too will suffer the same fate.

It was so many exhibitors withdrawing from the Liverpool Boat Show, seeing little return for their outlay, that caused the organiser to eventually cancel.

British Waterways

Max Steinberg, Chief Executive of Liverpool Vision told that there had been investment in the event with British Waterways  'establishing world-class berthing and staging facilities'.

Those 'berthing and staging facilities' notch up yet another failed investment, but luckily nothing like the usual millions, being just £500,000.
