Lee & Stort marina opens

ROYDON Marina Village, a 315 berth marina is now open on the Lee & Stort Navigation.

A lock had to be built for access from the river, with the first  narrowboat, John Seaborne's Do-Jo passing through last week, Alan Tilbury tells us.

The new 315 berths marina is part of a caravan holiday village, with John being instrumental in its building as an engineer and being resident, and so he was chosen as being the first through the lock.

It was an existing lake, part of the caravan park that was transformed into the marina, that is now mounting open days for prospective moorers to see the facilities.

Roydon Marina Village will be exhibiting at a number of shows throughout the year, including the Birmingham NEC Boat and Caravan Show later this month.
