Chance to own painting

Published: Thursday, 11 November 2010

MANY boaters have prints of waterway scenes on their walls, but there's a chance to obtain an original from an established waterways artist.

Michele Field is at present running an exhibition of her work at Oxford Town Hall, that includes many waterway scenes, with the one shown titled Lock Keepers House, Dukes Lock, Oxford Canal

Her exhibition runs to the end of this month and is open from 9am to 4pm daily.  There is wheelchair access.

Well established

Over the years Michele has become a well established Oxfordshire artist, and she tells us the subjects she most enjoys painting are canals, waterways, woodlands and landscapes, adding:

"I also have a passion to paint large vibrant floral canvases. These are such fun to paint, it's just nice to get carried away and express yourself with bright vibrant colours. Acrylics are such lovely mediums to work with.

"As long as I can remember I have always loved to paint and now devote much of my time to my art. Over the years I have held many solo exhibitions and can proudly proclaim that my work can be seen in homes across the U K, over seas and as far away as Down Under."

Countryside and waterways

She reveals that much of her inspiration comes from the wonderful local countryside and waterways with all the changing colours of the seasons.
In the past she has donated paintings to local Kidlington village charities, some of these include the Royal British Legion, Kidlington Church Spire appeal and Oxfordshire hospitals.
