Man assaulted on towpath

A MAN has been sexually assaulted on the Lancaster canal towpath in the city.

The 21 years old was also robbed by men around 11pm in the evening, and the police have stated they are interested in people who may have seen someone camping or living rough along the canal towpath, with Detective Chief Inspector Neil Esseen, of Lancashire Police requesting:

"Despite the heavy rain on that night, the canal towpath is often used by boat owners, dog walkers and joggers so it is possible that someone may have seen the victim either before or after the attack."
