Narrowboater saves car driver

IT WAS a narrowboater who was on hand to save a woman after she crashed her car into a canal.

The woman had seemingly taken a corner too fast and landed in the Staffs & Worcs Canal at Wolverhampton, but a boater helped get her out of the wreckage and onto his boat.

He called the emergency services, and the woman was treated for minor injuries then taken to New Cross Hospital in the town.

The car has now been removed.
