Boaters to help search

THE mother of the student who went missing a month ago wants boaters to help search the Leicester waterway this weekend for signs of her son who went missing a month ago.

Sue Charles has been walking the towpath of the Grand Union Canal in and around the city since Phil went missing, having been last seen walking down a ramp towards the waterway near Bede Park in the early hours of Saturday, 20th February after a night out.

Sue has stated that she would like to see boats searching the water, and would appreciate any help asking:

"I'd like to get some boats out on the water, and boaters to keep a sharp look-out."

One day this week she walked the canal path all the way from Watermead Park to the city, and another day spent six hours around  Abbey Park, relating:

"There's no sign of my son, nothing at all. That gives a little bit of hope."

Phil is 5ft 10in, slim, with short brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a red T-shirt, black beanie hat and a blue or black long-sleeved hooded jacket.
Police are urging anyone who has seen a man matching Phil's description to contact them on 0116 222 2222.
