PLANS have been revealed for 756 new homes by the side of Birmingham's Main Line Canal

Galliard Homes has produced plans for a mixed-use scheme of 756 new homes and over 10,000 sq ft of commercial space on a site opposite Birmingham City Hospital by the canal, Roger Fox tells us.

Public realm

Named the Soho Wharf scheme the development is located on a 12 acre derelict site by the waterway and will also include the creation of new' public realm' and parks, with  a new public waterfront space to make the most of the scheme’s canal side location.

Soho Wharf will offer 106 two and three-bedrooms town houses and 650 one and two bedrooms apartments

There will also be new pedestrian, cycle and vehicle routes for public access through the site, together with a new bridge over the canal connecting Soho Wharf with the existing towpath to provide a direct route into the city centre.
