Broken collar closes Erewash

A BROKEN collar on a lock on the Erewash Canal has closed the waterway.
The collar on Potters Lock (69) in Ilkeston has come adrift and so the lock is at present unusable, Keith Gudgin tells us.
Top gate
It is the top gate collar on the towpath side that is causing the problem so will be out of action until it can be repaired.

The broken collar has now been repaired and the waterway reopened.
