Left in the dark—again!

THE Canal & River Trust inform us that the Macclesfield Canal that was closed yesterday (Friday) is open today from 8am to 1pm.

However, as is now to be expected, its stoppage notice does not state as to whether this is just a temporary opening to allow boats through or is a daily opening from 8am to 1pm to conserve water owing to the 'leak' into a culvert.

Open or closed?

Or if it is just for the one day or if the waterway will then be open or closed!

As narrowboatworld has often stated, it really is about time someone conversant with boating is put in charge of these all too frequent misleading stoppage notices that fail to give the facts, leaving boaters in the dark.
