Fake news from CaRT

You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned Canal & River Trust and fake news, writes Helen Cripps.

It is  really piling it on now by telling the BBC that it is finding alternative routes for boats stuck on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, for how can any boater stuck between two of the locked-up flights find any alternative route?

It saved water

And I heard another CaRT man on Radio Four telling that the closure as a good thing as it saved water!

I expect the sheer embarrassment of the BBC publicising the closure prompted so much fake news.

And telling that the Macclesfield Canal is 'open as usual' when it is not.  If that is not fake news then I don't know what is.

And not forgetting boaters being blamed for leaving paddles open and draining a pound on the K&A, with boaters only leaving the paddles open on the gates they leave, and not having both top and bottom gate paddles open at the same time.  More fake news.
