Another Grantham Canal lock in water

SLOWLY, but very surely. the derelict locks of the Grantham Canal are being restored.

The latest is lock 15 with water returning to the lock chamber, John Clark reports.

Three years

His photograph shows the event that was the result of the dedicated work of the Grantham Canal Society volunteers, who have worked on the project for the last three years and were on site to witness this significant event.

They have been on the site in all weathers, Monday to Friday every week with the only break being Christmas week. Next week, work starts on Lock 14 where the skills that have been learned on Lock 15, will be put to use.
