Marple Flight closed again

MARPLE Flight on the Peak Forest Canal is closed once more.

The loose masonry in Lock 11 of the flight is proving to much of a problem, as it is having to be pushed out of the way even to allow short boats passage, so it will be closed from tomorrow, Monday, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Solve the problem

The next attempt to solve the problem is to cut down the size of the blocks of masonry to allow more clearance for boats.

This will take a few days, with the flight remaining closed to boats. this closure  will then be reassessed at the end of next week...
