Brownlow Bridge being repaired

WORK has started on the repair the damaged Brownlow Bridge over the Grand Union Canal at Leighton Buzzard.

It was on the 24th May that a vehicle severely damaged the parapet when the driver lost control, but work has now started on its repair, Alan Tilbury reports.

Problems with boats

During this period boaters had problems with their boats striking parts of damaged parapet in the water as vandals loosened the remaining stonework pushing it into the canal.

However, work has now started on the the repair that we are told by Canal & River Trust will be completed in early July.
