Man arrested for boat fire

A MAN at Middlewich has been arrested on suspicion of setting fire to a boat at King's Lock.

He has been released pending further enquiries but his arrest included 'with intent to endanger life',  which carries a life sentence if convicted.

Motor cruiser

The boat was a GPR motor cruiser that was destroyed in the blaze, but there was no one in the boat at the time.

Two fire appliances attended the fire that occurred in the early hours of last Friday.
