A good Bridgewater event

SALE Cruising Club hosted this years Federation of Bridgewater Cruising Clubs Rally at its club house between the Metro line and the canal at Sale,over the Spring Bank Holiday, writes Doug Wildman.

A full weekend of entertainment included commodore's games, a dog show and outstanding local musical groups.

Special guests

Special guests included the Leader of Trafford Borough Council, Councillor Andrew Western, Myra Whiteside Chair of the Bridgewater Canal Trust and representatives from Federation of Cruising Clubs.

Boats Bridgewater

The guests were treated to a sail-past of over 180 boats taking part with their colourful array of flags and decorations. The club commodores picked the winners of the various trophies which were presented by Councillor Western and Myra Whiteside.

A very special presentation was made to Mary Brewer (pictured) who is a founder member of the Sale C.C.
and celebrating her 100th Birthday this year.

This year's theme was the Wild West with the rally goers wearing some very imaginative costumes, and to quote Chris Hughes rally organiser of Sale C.C.

“The fantastic efforts of the club members who worked tirelessly to put on the Rally have been rewarded by the appreciation of all who attended.”
