Surprise, surprise—a leaking lock!

THE poor Huddersfield Narrow Canal is to be closed yet again—the fourth time this year!

This time it is, surprise, surprise a leaking lock, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Boater not blamed

The navigation is to be closed at Lock 26E, as there is 'excessive leaking' though the cill.  But no mention this time that it had been knocked off by a boater.

The waterway will be closed from Monday 4th June 2018  until 4pm Friday 8th June—once again taking a week, with Canal & River Trust stating that 'this repair can be carried out having minimal effect on boating traffic'.
