More new residential London moorings

CASHING in on the high living costs in the city, Canal & River Trust has gained permission for more residential moorings.

It has been granted planning permission for 16 new residential moorings in Millwall Outer Dock, providing new homes for those seeking a less expensive way of life in London.

Risen by 70%

The trust tells us that living on boats in the city has risen by 70% in the past five years, with the available residential moorings well over subscribed,

The new moorings will have all the facilities and will be managed by a new arm of the trust—Waterside Moorings, that now manages over 300 long term moorings across the system.

Work on the pontoons will start in summer with the scheme likely to be finished in autumn. The charges for the moorings however are not given.
