Birmingham & Fazeley reopened this morning

THE Birmingham & Fazeley Canal that had been closed all week was reopened at 8am this morning.

It may be remembered that the waterway had to be closed after a repair as the water level would not allow deep draughted boats through Minworth locks, as Keith Gudgin told us.

Complaints

It was only after complaints to Canal & River Trust by boaters that were stuck that the decision was made to close the navigation again and sort out the problem.

We are not told what the problem was, or how it was rectified, only that there was a small extension to the closure to ensure all the debris was removed from the problem area.
