Harecastle closed for three days

THE Harecastle Tunnel on the Trent & Mersey Canal is to be closed for three days for repairs.

Three fan covers need replacing in the tunnel, so it will be closed to navigation from Monday morning 26th February until 4pm Wednesday 28th Keith Gudgin tells us.

Scaffolding needed

It is told that the fan covers have been damaged, but there is no intimation how they have been damaged, only that scaffolding is needed to access the fans, hence the closure.
