IN AN attempt to publicise the Caen Hill Flight on the Kennet & Avon Canal, Canal & River Trust is to produce postcards.

It is asking people in the area to take photographs of the flight and submit them, in the form of a competition, with the one chosen as the winner, having the photograph used as a  souvenir postcard as part of a competition to publicise the flight, Alan Tilbury tells us.

After the postcard is produced it is expected that people will purchase it as a souvenir of their visit, with Caroline Robson, of the Trust, explaining:

“The locks at Caen Hill are really popular for visitors wanting to enjoy a quiet stroll or bike ride and for boaters feeling brave enough to tackle the flight of 16 locks.

“There must be thousands of lovely pictures of Caen Hill stored on phones, cameras and home PCs and we want you to share them with us.”

To enter the competition the photograph has to be handed in to the trip boat that is moored by the offices on the flight before the 18th.
