Now it's Heath & Safety that closes locks

AN 'INCIDENT' with a lock gate at Camden on the Regent's Canal has caused the three to be closed for 'Health & Safety' reasons.

This is yet another new reason being given, continuing the change in descriptions for lock closures, with the three closed yesterday (Thursday) until further notice, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Emergency

We are not told the cause of the failure of the gate, only that it is following emergency navigation closure and has to be implemented.

The three locks given are Hampstead Road Lock, Hawley Lock and Kentish Town Lock.
