Tinsley Flight reopens

TINSLEY Flight on the Sheffield & South Yorkshire Canal was reopened this morning after being closed through a pump failure.

Boaters were informed that a temporary pump had been sourced last Wednesday and installed, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Navigation possible

Since then the water level in the pound to Victoria Quays in Sheffield had been slowly rising, and is now at a level when navigation is again possible.

However, as seems to be the trend nowadays, there is conflicting evidence, as the stoppage notice from Canal & River Trust tells us that repairs to the pumps have now been carried out and passage available.
