Leicester Riverside Festival

THE Leicester Riverside Festival, now in its 21st year, returns on the first weekend in June, and this free festival will be spread over four areas on and off the water.

The Mile Straight

The festival takes place on the week-end of Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June at Bede Park, Western Boulevard, Castle Gardens and the Mile Straight.  The Leicester City Council photograph is of part of the festival on the Mile Straight on the Soar.

Bede Park has family activities including fun fair, food stalls, arts and crafts, beer tent, acoustic music stage and lots of join in activities. The Piazza area has large music stage featuring live bands.

Narrowboat rally

Western Boulevard has a street market with arts and crafts and street food and a Ride Leicester cycling area. The river has a narrowboat rally, boat trips, canoe and small boat rides and hire demonstrations. Castle Gardens has childrens' activities with an eco and environmental focus.
